1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Cavio – Invoice Maker on any Android device, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use or install the App.

2. Description of Service

Cavio Release 1.0 is a local-first, standalone business productivity tool designed to help independent contractors, small businesses, and freelancers create, format, and export professional invoices.

  • No User Account Required: Release 1.0 does not require registration, login credentials, or cloud account management.
  • Local Architecture: The App operates locally on your Android device. We do not host, synchronize, or store your invoices or business documents on custom Cavio servers.

3. User Responsibilities and Data Management

3.1 Local Storage and Data Loss Risks

All data entered into Cavio—including business profiles, client details, line items, and invoice history—is stored exclusively in a local database on your device.

  • You are solely responsible for backing up your data. If your device is lost, stolen, damaged, reset to factory settings, or if you clear application storage or uninstall Cavio, all locally stored data will be permanently erased.
  • Cavio is not liable for any lost, corrupted, or unrecoverable business records resulting from device hardware failure, operating system updates, or uninstallation.

3.2 Backup Files (.caviobackup)

Cavio provides an export and import mechanism using .caviobackup files (standard ZIP archives containing a SQLite database snapshot and a verification manifest).

  • No Encryption: Backup archives created by Cavio are unencrypted and contain no cryptographic digital signatures. The SHA-256 hash included in the manifest is used strictly for technical integrity validation to detect corrupted files during restore.
  • Security Responsibility: You are solely responsible for the storage, transmission, and security of any backup files you export. You should store these files in secure locations (such as password-protected cloud accounts or encrypted drives) to prevent unauthorized access.

3.3 Accuracy and Legal Compliance of Invoices

  • Cavio is a document formatting tool. It does not provide accounting, financial, legal, or tax advice.
  • You are solely responsible for ensuring that all information entered into your documents—including item descriptions, prices, discounts, tax rates, tax identification numbers, and payment terms—is accurate, complete, and fully compliant with applicable local, state, national, and international tax and commercial laws.
  • We do not warrant or guarantee that documents produced by Cavio fulfill the specific legal or regulatory invoicing standards of any particular jurisdiction.

4. In-App Purchases and Monetization

4.1 Premium Template Purchases (pbk_premium_templates_lifetime)

  • Cavio offers an optional in-app purchase that grants a permanent, non-exclusive, non-transferable entitlement to use premium invoice styling templates.
  • All purchases are processed through Google Play In-App Billing (com.android.vending.BILLING). Pricing, payment terms, and applicable local taxes are determined and displayed by Google Play at the point of sale.
  • You can restore past purchases on supported devices linked to the same Google Play account using the “Restore Purchases” function within the App.

4.2 Refunds

In-app purchases are subject to Google Play’s official refund policies. Because transactions are processed directly by Google LLC, refund requests must be submitted directly through the Google Play Store or Google Support.

4.3 Rewarded Advertisements

  • Free tier users may temporarily unlock premium templates on a per-session basis by viewing rewarded video advertisements provided via Google Mobile Ads (AdMob).
  • Ad availability is managed dynamically by third-party ad networks and is not guaranteed at all times or in all geographic locations. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue temporary ad-based access at our discretion.

5. Intellectual Property Rights

  • The App: Cavio, its source code, design systems, visual layouts, icons, typography selections, and branding are the proprietary intellectual property of Studio Ryo and its licensors, protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.
  • Your Content: You retain full ownership of all data, text, logos, customer lists, and business records you enter into the App. By using the App, you grant us no license or ownership rights to your business records.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of Cavio, except where permitted by applicable law.
  • Modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works based on the App or its templates.
  • Circumvent, disable, or tamper with any digital rights management, security controls, or entitlement checks within the App.
  • Use the App to create invoices or documents for fraudulent, illegal, deceptive, or misleading commercial activities.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.

8. Third-Party Services

The App interacts with third-party software libraries and services provided by Google LLC, including Google Play Services, Google Mobile Ads, Firebase Analytics, and Firebase Crashlytics. Your use of these integrated features is subject to the respective terms and privacy policies of Google LLC. We are not responsible for the availability, policies, or actions of third-party service providers.

These Terms remain in effect until terminated by either party. You may terminate these Terms at any time by deleting and uninstalling all copies of the App from your devices. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App (or any feature thereof) at any time without prior notice.

10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory laws applicable to you provide otherwise. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or Cavio shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Japan having jurisdiction under applicable law, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.

11. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to revise these Terms at any time. When updates are published, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of these Terms and make the updated version available at https://cavio-3317d.web.app/terms and within the App. Your continued use of the App following the posting of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
